What payment fits your month, and what it buys
Start from your own month: income, fixed costs, and a cushion. See a payment range you're comfortable with and what loan amounts it covers at different rates and terms.
Why we start from your budget
Lenders tell you the most they’ll lend. That isn’t the same as what fits your life. This tool starts from your take-home pay, subtracts what has to be paid and the cushion you want to keep, and shows the room left. Then it turns a payment you choose into loan amounts at a few example rates and terms.
About debt-to-income
If you enter your gross income, we show your debt-to-income ratio with the new payment. Lenders use it, but each sets its own limits and weighs it alongside credit history and other factors, so we don’t show a pass or fail line. More in what lenders look at.
Limits
- The rates are examples, not quotes. Yours depends on the lender and your application.
- If your income varies, use a lower month. If a fee is taken from the loan, you’d receive less than the amounts shown.
- If there’s no room for a payment, a loan may make things harder. See alternatives to borrowing.
