How We Make Money

Our advertiser and affiliate disclosure, in plain language.

Cash Loan Realms is free to read. To pay for it, some pages show partner options: links to loan-matching services and other financial companies. If you click one of these links and submit a request, or take some other action on the partner’s site, we may receive a payment from the partner or from an advertising network that works with them.

Where partner options appear, and where they don’t

  • They appear only in boxes labelled Sponsored: on the home page, on some topic pages, on your Loan Desk when you’ve been reading about a related topic, and on our partner options page.
  • They never appear inside our guides or our calculators and tools, and our writers don’t decide which partners we show.
  • Partner links are marked in the page code as sponsored, open in a new tab, and say which site you’re going to.

What payment doesn’t change

Payments don’t change what our guides say, which alternatives we describe (including options that aren’t loans at all), or how our calculators work. Our tools never favor a partner; they only calculate what you type in.

Because we may be paid, we don’t claim that any partner is the best or cheapest option for you. We show partner options because some readers have already decided to look for a loan, and we’d rather they arrive at a partner’s site knowing how it works.

What our current partners are

Most of our current partners are loan-matching services. They are not lenders. They take your request and pass it to lenders and other companies in their networks, who decide whether to make an offer. The lender that funds the loan sets the APR, fees and term, and those terms weren’t provided to us, so we don’t show them. Expect to be contacted by lenders and partners after you submit a request, and compare any offer by its APR and total of payments. Our guide to how loan-matching sites work explains the whole process.

We may also show a debt settlement company. Debt settlement isn’t a loan and isn’t right for everyone; read our comparison of consolidation, counseling and settlement first.

How we check partner information

Each partner option is a record with a source and a “last checked” date. We only show what we’ve been able to confirm, such as the company’s name, what kind of company it is, and the request range it advertises. When something wasn’t provided to us, such as APRs, we say so instead of guessing. Records that haven’t been re-checked recently are hidden automatically, and partners that pause their programs are removed.
